This year, 2026, the following joined the distinguished list of EurAI Fellows.
Jesse Davis is a Professor in the CS department at KU Leuven.
He has been elected EurAI Fellow For his contributions to machine learning and their application to sports analytics.
His research focuses on developing novel artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, and data mining techniques, with a particular emphasis on analysing structured data. He has made groundbreaking contributions with a lasting impact on both foundational research and applications.
Emiliano Lorini is the senior research director of CNRS at IRIT Laboratory of Toulouse.
He has been elected EurAI Fellow For his contributions to the logical and philosophical foundations of agency in AI.
Emiliano Lorini’s work demonstrates the continuing importance of rigorous symbolic approaches for building AI systems that are explainable, verifiable, and aligned with human norms and values. His research program is intellectually ambitious, technically sophisticated, and highly relevant to the development of trustworthy AI in Europe.
Sylvie Thiébaux is directrice de recherche at the University of Toulouse and a member of the Artificial and Natural Intelligence (ANITI) institute and the RIS group at the LAAS-CNRS Laboratory.
She has been elected EurAI Fellow For her contributions to automated planning and decision-making under uncertainty.
In a time where neural networks and neuro-symbolic methods are gaining more and more traction, and are essentially poised to take over the field of AI decision making for good, Thiébaux’s research has been among the first to show the way in the development of neuro-symbolic planning, and continuously made significant contributions to this field throughout the last 8 years.
